Johanne Fossheim
“Raven”

|
Once upon a midnight dreary, while she pondered weak and weary..." Raven gently spread her wings, took off from the snow-covered hills of Northern Norway and ended up with fangs on the Gold Coast.
After three years of classical vocal training at a music college in her home-town, and a variety of musical shows in the land where she hatched, Raven is now building a nest in Australia.
Down-under Raven has been a part of a funk/hip-hop dance crew ("BodyBeats") in 2006, and performed with the comedy troupe "The Gold Coast Comix" at Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival the same year. Since then she has regularly performed with original, six-piece Gold Coast band "taylor" who recently recorded an album (to be released this year). In 2009 Raven together with three other actors from "Zeal Theatre" created and performed a character-driven, physical-theatre piece that toured in schools throughout Queensland.
Raven's attraction towards nightmares, horror films and weirdos- combined with a love for musical theatre- makes this foreign bird right at home here in Dracula's castle. Since "in bleak December" she tapped at his chamber door, like Poe's famous raven she says: "This, and nothing more |
