The Venue
The original Dracula’s in Melbourne is centrally located on the north side of the city. An iconic landmark for locals and tourists alike.
This 1860s Gothic castle pulses with purple neon and is festooned with stained glass and gargoyles. Legend has it that the building on Cardigan Street has a resident ghost.
The former owner swears one night, he witnessed a young girl walking through what is now the dress circle in a white dress. Sitting on a couch he was promptly flung across the room and vowed never to return. Sounds a bit much? Actually a search of the newspapers of the era revealed the building was originally an early 20th century foundry. The daughter of the foundry’s owner tragically fell to her death into a cauldron of molten metal.
Many staff over the years have sworn they themselves have witnessed the apparition of a young girl, and if that’s not creepy enough, the alarm sensor over the actors staircase, in the same area she was seen, has unaccountably triggered over the years… for no reason, even though it has been replaced many times. Our resident ghost must be happy though, as literally millions of people have enjoyed Dracula’s Melbourne now for over 30 years making Dracula’s Australia’s most visited and successful dinner theatre.
From the moment you enter Dracula’s you and your friends will embark on a unique Gothic journey enjoying great food and our award winning production show.
